Taste and chat with Adi at the Grande Roche

Bosman's Restaurant at the Grande Roche in Paarl will be hosting a wine tasting every fortnight starting in August. Meet the hotel's new Head Sommelier, Josephine Gutentoft, who will be hosting these tastings with the winemakers and ambassadors from the respective wineries.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the winemakers, buy the wines at cellar prices and simply to increase ones wine knowledge whilst sampling some of South Africa's fine wines. There will be no charge for the event but reservations are essential.

See Adi there in September...

The adventures of Adi in the USA~

This week our winemaker Mr Adi Badenhorst himself hops on a plane to the U.S of A again and leaves wife Cornelia with the kids on the farm.

We hope he gets time to fill us in on his travels as he goes from New York to San Fran and down to Jacksonville in Florida, so that we can keep up with the American adventures.

Watch this space as Malmesbury goes to New York baby!

Wise words from a man with good taste...

Cape based Food and Wine Critic Jean-Pierre Rossouw talked to House and Leisure SA about his new book Tasting the Cape in their Juny Issue.

They asked him if there are any new wineries he has his eye on, and what do you know...

He had other answers as well, see what the man with the good taste had to say:

Read a review on his new book here, or check out House and Leisure for more!

Our new favourite site~

Not only is this site designed and build of our close friend Morne Fischer, it also features Jamie Who (who blogged about us a while ago, and vice versa) as well as our first stab at online advertising (or any advertising for that matter) for our wines.

Africionado is a lifestyle website that brings you the best in high-end blogs, created by Justine Stafford of IFor1 Independent Fashion Blog and her Aficionado co-conspirators…
You probably haven’t seen anything like it but the name says it all: they are fans of great food and wine , beautiful clothes and interiors, awe-inspiring art and photography and breathtaking travel destinations.
Have a look at http://aficionado.co.za/ - we recommend it!

visit, revisit and visit again

London based Jamie Goode blogs about his visit to Kalmoesfontein in a lovely tribute to Adi, his mad skills and the lovely piece of Swartland valley where we make our wines.

Includes nice images of our much loved Peet Pienaar labels as well. Read the lovely article here.

n Vriendin vir elke man in die kombuis

The state of wine writers...

A while ago we blogged about Danish photographer Linda Suhr's book on South African wine, called 'A Passion for Wine & Surf' which featured our farm.

This weekend Neil Pendock caught on as he searched for a decent book on the local wine industry in his local Exclusive Books...

And he even calls Adi a beefcake... Referring to this image
